True North Health Clinic is a participating location for the Care Access Future of Medicine program. Eligible participants may qualify for a no-cost cardiometabolic health screening and may learn about potential future clinical research opportunities.

What to expect
How the program works
The process begins with an eligibility check on the Care Access website. If you may qualify, True North staff will help guide you through the Care Access program information and consent materials.

Complete the screening
Eligible participants who choose to proceed may complete a cardiometabolic health screening, which may include a blood draw, at True North Health Clinic.
Review results and opportunities
Care Access may share screening results and contact eligible participants about potential future clinical research opportunities.
Screening tests
What the screening may include
Cardiometabolic screening may include blood tests that look at cholesterol, inflammation, blood sugar, kidney function, and inherited risk factors.
Lp(a)
A special type of cholesterol that can run in families and may be associated with heart health risk.
Lipid Panel
Measures cholesterol and fats in the blood, including LDL, HDL, and triglycerides.
hsCRP
Measures inflammation in the body that may be associated with certain health risks.
A1c
Measures average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months.
eGFR
Helps estimate how well the kidneys are filtering blood.
Additional screening tests may be available depending on your health profile and program eligibility.

Important things to know
No-cost screening
Eligible participants may receive a no-cost health screening through the program. Participants who complete the required blood draw may be eligible to receive a $45 prepaid debit card from Care Access.
Appointment-only screening
Screening visits are by appointment only. If we missed you, please contact us so we can help schedule your screening appointment.
Voluntary participation
Participation is voluntary. Eligible participants choose whether they want to proceed after reviewing the Care Access program information and consent materials.
